About Me......

Hello, my name is Mary McDonnell, I am a fully qualified DVSA Approved Driving Instructor.

I was born in Southern Ireland and came to the UK in the 1980's. I have lived in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire for over 20 years. I enjoy spending time with my family at the park and on holidays.

My hobbies include walking, swimming, cycling, home entertaining and meeting up with my friends.

I always wanted to be a driving instructor but the opportunity did not arise until later in my working life. With 30 years in the retail industry, leading a team, I am very committed to what I do, I have excellent communication and motivational skills which is so important when teaching my students to drive.

So, I decided to fulfill my dream and trained to be a driving instructor, I worked hard during my driving instructor training and passed all 3 parts of the Approved Driving Instructor training course, this included theory, practical and instructional techniques.

Being a female driving instructor, I am able to understand and have lots of patience - this of course comes from being a Mum too!
